Welcome to the Pre-School / Primary 1 Transition section of our website. This section will provide you with answers to some questions you may have about starting Primary 1 at Laxdale School, and introduce you to our school if you are new to our school community.

Some of the staff who will help you in School
My name is Miss Macleod and I am the Head of School. I am in charge of the school. I work in the office and take assemblies. I love it when your teacher sends you to the office to show me the excellent work you do!
My name is Mrs. Rigg and I am the Principal Teacher. Sometimes I help the Head of School in the office and the rest of the time I am the Teacher for Learning Support in the school.
My name is Mr. Macdonald and I am the Janitor in the school. (Sometimes the children call me the Janny!) I help you to cross the road at the lights and I look after you at playtime. I make sure the school is a safe place for everyone and I fix wee things that are broken.
My name is Mrs Ross and I am the head cook. In the canteen we cook delicious and healthy lunches for you. There is something different every day.
My name is Miss Maclennan and I teach the Primary 1 children (in English). I love it when my children play nicely, have fun and learn lots.
My name is Mrs Maciver and I teach the Primary 1 children (in Gaelic). We like to learn through play and encourage each other to speak Gaelic.
